April 30-May 2, 2010 --- "Alice in Wonderland" --- (The story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit-hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar animals with human attributes); presented by Griffin Ballet Theatre, Griffin Auditorium, 770-228-1306. <br><br>

 

May 2, 2010 --- "Lemonade Day" --- (Lemonade Day is a nation-wide event that teaches kids the skills they need to be successful in the future. Youth learn to set goals, develop a business plan, establish a budget, seek investors, provide customer service, and give back to the community. Lemonade day is the perfect opportunity for a community to show kids they care and train the next generation of entrepreneurs through a FREE, fun, engaging, and experiential activity. June 3-5, 2010 --- "Broadway Dreams" --- the premiere performing arts training program is coming to Griffin. With a faculty made up of today's biggest Broadway stars, casting directors, choreographers and agents dedicated to giving back to the theatrical community, Broadway Dreams provides invaluable training to anyone who aspires to a career in musical theatre. Students will attend a series of classes in acting, dance and vocal performance by some of Broadway's brightest stars for four consecutive days from 9 am - 5 pm. Auditions for the Griffin Summer Mini Intensive will be held on March 13 and May 2, 2010 at Studio D School of Dance (111 Hill Street, Griffin, GA 30223). Students should be prepared to sing 16 - 32 bars of a song to a CD they provide; hosted by Griffin Ballet Theatre; 770-228-1306. <br><br>

Sept 21, 2010 --- "Barbara and Frank: The Concert that Never Was" ---- (It is unlikely that these two powerhouse voices of the century would have ever shared the same stage...until now. Sharon Owens stars as Barbra Streisand and Sebastian Anzaldo portrays Frank Sinatra. The repertoire for the ensemble includes piano and wind works by Mozart, Poulenc and Beethoven, the wind serenades and divertimenti by Mozart and Beethoven as well as larger scale works such as Dvorak's Serenade for Winds, Mozart's Gran Partita and Strauss's Serenade for Wind Instruments); presented by the Griffin Area Concert Association, 770-227-6185, in the Griffin Auditorium. <br><br>

June 24, 2011 --- "Army Jazz Band" --- (The United States Army's premier big band. This 19-member ensemble, formed in 1969, has received great acclaim both at home and abroad performing America's original art form, jazz. Concerts are designed to entertain all types of audiences. Custom compositions and arrangements highlight the group's creative talent and gifted soloists. Their diverse repertoire includes big band swing, bebop, Latin, contemporary jazz, standards, popular tunes, Dixieland, vocals, and patriotic selections); presented by the Griffin Area Concert Association, 770-227-6185, in the Griffin Auditorium. <br><br>
